Seaside town misspelled on village sign

A very obvious spelling mistake has been spotted on a way-finding sign in the village of Kirton.

After waiting three years to get the new sign installed, the installation day was meant to be "rather special" to the parish council.

The sign caused much amusement within the village after it was discovered that the name of the seaside and port town Felixstowe was misspelled as "Flexistowe".

Felixstowe now known as "Flexistowe" has several miles of beach, a leisure pier, grass court tennis club and links golf courses. It is scenic a beach resort and the UK's busiest container port, south east of Ipswich in the county Suffolk.

The county council apologised for the incorrect spelling and said it would be altered as soon as possible.
