BS EN ISO 7010:2012 Compliant
All of our safety signs are manufactured and supplied to BS EN ISO 7010:2012 designs, wherever possible. All signs manufactured have been amended to display the technically correct ISO 7010 symbol however when a symbol has yet to be adopted by International Standardisation, but has proven comprehension credentials under BS 5499, these signs will continue to be manufactured to BS 5499 standards. In 2012 BS EN ISO 7010:2012 was adopted in the UK.
This means that safety signs in the workplace have moved away from being ‘international standard’ (essentially a recommendation or best practice), to a European Norm (meaning the contents of the standard must be written into UK and EU law).
BS EN ISO 7010:2012 has been developed to provide a consistency in safety sign design across the EU. By using common pictograms and symbols a universal recognition has been encouraged. This means that a fire exit sign in the UK looks exactly the same as in any other European Country.
Many of the new designs are based upon previous BS5499 standards (a standard we had conformed to since its introduction in 2002). When buying from Caledonia you can be assured that the signs we supply meet the highest levels of technical and quality scrutiny.
